100 years of Mrs. Joanna Czajka - a remarkable story of life, strength and love

03.02.2025 r.

On Sunday morning, 2 February 2025, Lucjusz Nadbereżny, Mayor of Stalowa Wola, together with Marcin Maziarz, Head of the Registry Office in Stalowa Wola, visited an exceptional resident of Stalowa Wola - Mrs Joanna Czajka, who was born exactly 100 years ago, on 2 February 1925.

- Entering the flat, I thought for a moment that I had been mistaken - before me I saw a person full of energy, vigour and optimism, to whom it is difficult to attribute a dignified jubilee of 100 years of life," reported President Nadbereżny,

In a heartfelt conversation, Ms Joanna shared the story of her extremely difficult, but also beautiful life. At the age of 35, she became a widow, raising her children alone and running a large farm. In the 1970s, she came to Stalowa Wola, taking up hard work at the Power Plant and then at the Stalowa Wola Steelworks, where she worked until retirement.

Today, she can look back with pride on the successive generations of her family - children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who are the most beautiful fruit of her life. And despite all the years she has lived, she continues to impress with her remarkable agility, memory and cheerfulness.

When asked for her recipe for a long and good life, she replied briefly: "hard work".

Mrs Joan, thank you for your beautiful example of a life full of dedication, love and work for our community. May health, joy and God's blessings accompany you for many years to come!
